Fast foods may have been the meal of choice for many busy families through the last couple of decades. But now the slow cooked, home-prepared meals are gaining in popularity! Crock pots with their wafting aromas and ready to eat meals entice health-conscious mexican lasagna breakfast busy people. The main reason I like serving lasagna is the fact that it's a crowd pleaser. And for someone who likes to try to "keep it simple," this is a dish that can be totally prepared ahead of time - even the night before - and then simply removed from the refrigerator and baked! Add a salad and bread sticks to lasagna and you have a "may I have more, please?" meal fit for a king! You can always choose to add special ingredients to your best mexican lasagna and make it more appealing and personalized. Substitute turkey or ground veal for the meat or use a combination of meats for a surprisingly tasty dish. Homemade yogurt, on the other hand, is a nutritional powerhouse because you can control the amount and type of sugar you use. Once you've tasted wholesome, homemade yogurt, you may even discover that it doesn't need any added sugar at all. I like to add fresh slow cooker mexican lasagna fruit granola or a spoonful of preserves. Plain yogurt is delicious topped with nuts and a drizzle of honey. I also use homemade yogurt in smoothies, dips and salad dressing. Dr. Pepper Mac and Cheese - Dr. Pepper in mac and cheese? Surprise! Here's another great recipe featuring the popular soda. In addition to Dr. Pepper, this version includes: ground beef, tomato and Worcestershire sauces and Mozzarella cheese. For an authentic Mexican meal, try the Guadalajara Bakery and Market in San Jose, California. Their burritos are large and very filling. The Guadalajara Bakery and Market had been a lunch fixture in San Jose for over thirty years. In the market, there is an open display case with cooked meats such as Chili Verde, a cubed pork in a chili lasagna sauce and Chili Colorado which is cubed beef in a red chili sauce plus toppings such as tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream. They also sell authentic Mexican pastries and breads along with Mexican food stuff. It is an experience to eat your lunch either in the market or out in the library park across the street. San Jose Art Museum is a diamond in the rough for museums. It's a small museum that is housed in a two story building with a basement. They are very innovative in their exhibits. I went to Andy Warhol Print Exhibit in 2009 where the pieces were from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. The exhibit showcased his prints in multimedia with a documentary film about his life that was set in a loop. San Jose Art Museum has state of the contemporary exhibits that are fun and interesting. The Frida Kahlo exhibit was amazing that showcased her art work and life. This is a museum that is worth the admission fee. In a medium bowl, combine cheese, celery soup, sour cream and chicken broth. Place a layer of half of the potatoes and half of the onion in the slow cooker. Spread half the soup mixture over the potatoes. Repeat the layers.
